Sean Murray - EUK Consulting (chair)
Laszlo Labody - BAT (vice-chair)
Barbara Wynne - Accenture (vice-chair)

The Business Security task force was established in 2006, as a platform for British Chambers members to exchange views and enhance understanding on Business Security issues.
Our key areas of focus are first is to fight contraband and counterfeit which are hugely damaging for the revenue, profits and brand reputation of our member companies. The second is to promote the improved customs controls, border security and policing. Ultimately we are fighting organised crime which is making the fakes and running the smuggling rackets across Europe.
Our task force members are derived from a wide sector base including Panasonic, BAE Systems, Accenture, Raytheon, British American Tobacco, Deutsche Post DHL and eBay.
The Business Security task force creates opportunities for our members to meet and work with key EU policy makers responsible for IPR, customs and trade. We work with them to put in place the measures needed to fight contraband and counterfeit.

For example,

  • We conceived and support actively the European Parliament Forum for the Combat of Contraband, Counterfeit and Organised Crime.
  • We hold a series of small, exclusive briefing sessions for our members with the policy makers who matter.
  • Members have been invited to Europol’s headquarters in the Hague to share ideas and discuss methods of cooperation.
  • We hold large scale conferences around key areas of interest for example Integrated Border Management.

If your company has an interest in promoting better customs and border security and in fighting contraband and counterfeit, then join us in the Business Security task force.
